Finding Experts

Collect expert knowledge to improve the quality of your content, especially when creating a serious game.

WHY SHOULD YOU DO THIS?
Creating a serious game is exciting, but it’s even better when you have experts on your side. They can help you make your game about important topics more accurate and powerful.

HOW TO GET STARTED?

Step 1: Choose your theme. For example, if your game is about space exploration, your theme could be “Discovering the Secrets of the Universe.”

Step 2: Define your goal. Let’s say you want players to feel like real astronauts exploring space.

Step 3: Find experts in your network who know a lot about your theme. If your game is about space, look for scientists, astronomers, or science educators. Tell them about your game project and ask if they’d be willing to help.

WHAT TO DO NEXT?

Step 4: Once you have your experts on board, involve them at different stages of your project. For instance:

  • Ask them to review your game script to ensure the space science is accurate.
  • Invite them to playtest your game and provide feedback on how to make the space exploration experience more authentic.
  • Check with them to make sure your game achieves the goal of making players feel like real astronauts on a space mission.

Having these experts as your advisors will make your serious game even better and more reliable.
